What do In Home Care Provides Actually Jobs Actually Involve?

In-home care jobs involve nurses providing assistance to their patients with simple tasks such as eating, grooming, and bathing. Some agencies do require their home care nurses to provide light housekeeping duties, prepare meals, and do laundry for their clients, as well as provide physical and emotional support. Nurses are usually required to help patients with getting in and out of bed, going to the toilet and transporting them to and from home. Caregivers go through an accredited program to become licensed and certified. They may choose to study towards a diploma, an associate’s degree, or a bachelor’s degree. Once they have completed school, home carers need to pass state nursing board exams in order to receive their license. Once they have passed the exam, they then need to pass the Home Health Care Nurse certification before they can operate as home care nurses.

About Our Certified Companion Aide (CCA®) program

“I did not have a lot of formal [education] as a caregiver and the CCA program helped me to gain a better knowledge of what to expect as a caregiver and how to deal with certain situations. The instructional material was interesting and I think that it has given me more confidence as a caregiver.”
